Vít Makarius
Vít Makarius is a senior associate at Havel, Holásek & Partners. He specialises in international dispute resolution, primarily in international arbitration.
He has advised disputing parties, arbitrators and appellate authorities in arbitrations under various rules applied by permanent arbitration courts and ad-hoc tribunals, in international commercial arbitration and in proceedings initiated under treaties on the protection of foreign investments. He has also regularly advised on a wide range of issues arising under international law, in particular the law of international treaties and fundamental rights.
Before joining Havel, Holásek & Partners in 2010, Vít practiced commercial law and served a four-year term as a case lawyer at the European Court of Human Rights in Strasbourg, where he was in charge of commercial law, civil law and regulatory matters.

C.
- advising an international judicial organ vested with the power of judicial review on the protection of the rights of foreign minority shareholders in connection with their squeeze-out from companies domiciled in the Czech Republic
- advising an international judicial organ vested with the power of judicial review on a claim regarding the protection of the proprietary rights of a Canadian footwear manufacturer vis-à-vis a Central European country
