Peter Šuba
Peter Šuba is a partner of Havel, Holásek & Partners based in Bratislava. He specializes in mergers and acquisitions, privatizations, corporate finance, issues of state aid provided before and after accession to the EU, competition law, labor law, acquisitions of real estate and litigation/arbitration. Peter Šuba has advised numerous Slovak and foreign clients doing business in various industries.
Before joining Havel, Holásek & Partners in 2011, Peter Šuba worked for four years as a partner and for nearly seven years as an associate of the Slovak branch of a U.S. law firm. Before that, he worked as a judicial candidate at the Military District Court in Bratislava.

Transactions
These transactions took place before Peter joined Havel, Holásek & Partners:
- joint legal representation of a Korean car manufacturer and a Korean supplier of automotive parts on the acquisition of land within a project of state aid granted by the Slovak government to a major greenfield investment in the Slovak Republic
- advising a foreign oil company on the sell-back of a 49% stake in a Slovak crude oil pipeline operator
- advising a commercial bank in connection with the refinancing of an initial acquisition loan and the financing of the expansion of the hotel, office and retail parts of a 4-star hotel in the historic center of Bratislava, Slovak Republic
- representing one of the largest Spanish construction groups as an applicant for the concession of the Slovak Ministry of Transport in public tenders for the design, construction, operation, management and maintenance of three segments of a Slovak expressway
- advising a major Korean automotive company in connection with a regional investment incentive provided by the Slovak Republic for a greenfield project, including negotiations with Slovak and EU authorities, drafting an application for state aid and the implementation of the approved state aid measures
- advising a global real estate fund on the re-financing of an existing loan in the amount of millions of EUR from an Austrian bank by means of a credit facility in the amount of tens of millions of EUR provided by a German bank to the owner of a luxury 5-star hotel in Eastern Europe
- advising the Slovak Republic in connection with preparations for the privatization of a state-owned railway freight transportation company
- advising a major financial institution in connection with the sale of 100% shareholding in a pension management company
- advising the central bank on the preparation and negotiation of documentation for ISDA and GMRA framework agreements with international financial institutions
- advising the U.K.’s largest retail chain operator on the acquisition of land, including real estate leasing, construction, licensing and infrastructure development
- representing a U.S. NGO in connection with the successful restitution of a famous work of art stolen during WWII and later discovered in Slovakia
