The largest Czech law firm Havel & Holásek expands its team of partners and changes corporate name to Havel, Holásek & Partners

Havel & Holásek, the largest Czech law firm operating in the Czech and Slovak markets, expands its team with a new partner – Petr Kadlec. The firm’s legal team thus now comprises 18 partners and almost 120 lawyers out of a total staff of more than 300 in four offices in Prague, Ostrava, Brno and Bratislava. Petr Kadlec, together with the current partners, namely Jaroslav Havel, will head the public sector and energy and utility practice groups. The increased number of partners is also reflected in the firm’s new name as of today: Havel, Holásek & Partners.

Petr Kadlec will be co-responsible for the management and development of the public sector and energy and utility practice groups. He will also support the development and management of the firm’s practice in the area of EU law and competition, as well as relationships and cooperation with partner law firms operating in the public sector. Petr Kadlec worked at Havel & Holásek previously from 2003 to 2007, specialising in public procurement matters, contract law, IT/IP and competition. For the last three years, he has worked in Brussels at the Directorate General for Competition of the European Commission, where he participated in cartel and abuse of dominance investigations in the financial services sector.

Together with the change of corporate name, Havel, Holásek & Partners’ corporate identity also changes as of 1 February 2011. “The decision to change the corporate name to Havel, Holásek & Partners reflects the growth and development of our law firm, which is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary in June, as well as the strengthening of its partner team over the last years. While in 2001 the firm was founded by two partners, as the name used until now suggested, today it has 18 partners, of which six are co-owners. We have been quite successful in the last years; our sales went up by almost 20% last year and the Slovak branch has significantly strengthened as its size doubled. A number of colleagues deserved promotion, while others – leading experts – have just joined us, and thus we appointed five new partners at the beginning of the year. One or two more partners will be appointed in the upcoming months”, managing partner Jaroslav Havel says. All these changes show that, after ten years of existence, Havel, Holásek & Partners is a reputable and well-established firm in the Czech and Slovak markets, whose systematic development continues in line with its strategy aimed at providing legal advisory at the highest international standards. “In the next ten years, we wish to further strengthen our above-standard relationships with our clients so that they can maximise the benefit of our services for their businesses”, Jaroslav Havel adds.

The firm’s current logo, used since 2001, will also change. Inspired by the style of renowned Anglo-Saxon law firms around the world, the new visual identity responds to the latest market development and international trends. The blue colour of the former logo remains, now enlivened by red, which gives the new corporate identity of Havel, Holásek & Partners a more modern and dynamic aspect.
